Overview
The LOGICAL SYSTEMS UNS App is a secure, resilient publish-subscribe platform that acts as the semantic backbone of your manufacturing ecosystem, bridging Operational and Information Technology with full context and traceability. Unlike conventional brokers or middleware tools, it offers out-of-the-box support for broker onboarding, configuration auditing, topic inspection, tag hierarchy management and message transformation. From smart sensors, programmable controllers and human machine interfaces to enterprise resource planning tools, it forms the event-driven digital twin of your plants.
Developed for the Ignition® platform, the UNS App enforces tag naming, topic structure and data validation using ISA-95 alignment, Sparkplug B and custom compliance rules such as Weihenstephan Standards. Sites can keep their own brokers while the enterprise sets global topic models, compliance rules and validation logic, and namespace changes roll out in stages through CI/CD workflows. Combined with the UNS Portal, it provides governed, real-time infrastructure from a single line to global sites, and integrates with the complete suite of LOGICAL SYSTEMS applications.
